Think back to a time in your life when something happened, good or bad, that had a profound effect on you and hit you like a ton of bricks. Most often it happens in an instant of time and most times it is unexpected. Nevertheless, it was life-changing and, as a result, it deserves reflection.
A couple of blogs ago, I mentioned that genes, along with upbringing and good foundation, make us who we are. Our experiences lead us to who we become. Nothing happens without reason. Wise people understand this and they reflect on why and how this will change them. Death or birth, a tragedy or triumph, a good deed or sin, success or failure, punishment or adulation, all these measure greatly as to why life happens and how we are going to handle it. In the book, JUST SHOW UP, many of life’s experiences are detailed and explained as to how they can make us change, sometimes for the better and sometimes for the worse. The point is we have control over the end result. It requires reflection, resolve, work and perseverance. It’s in your hands, so, what are you going to do about it? Carry on and be well.
